Education Day Featured Topics:

  • Legal Developments in Privacy and Cybersecurity – The Changing Compliance and Risk Landscape for Insurers
On both sides of the Atlantic, insurers face a more challenging environment in terms of privacy and cybersecurity compliance than ever before.  In the US, the new New York DFS Cybersecurity Regulation and the proposed NAIC present a range of challenges, and in the UK (as with elsewhere in Europe), GDPR implementation means that insurers (including many US insurers doing business in Europe) face heightened obligations in terms of data privacy compliance and mandatory data breach reporting - with potential penalties for non-compliance of as much as 4% of the insurer’s global annual turnover.  Norton Rose Fulbright’s Global Co-heads of Cyber Risk, Ffion Flockhart and Chris Cwalina, will discuss this environment and offer guidance on the key steps insurers might take navigate it.
Presenters:  Ffion Flockhart, Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright LLP and Chris Cwalina, Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright LLP
