AIRROC Board Confirms New Leadership

AIRROC (the Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Run-Off Companies) announces Katherine Barker and Marianne Petillo as its new Co-Chairwomen and Edward Gibney as Vice Chairman.  They were appointed to the positions on March 5 during the triannual board meeting that took place in New York, New York.

Barker and Petillo step into the role after serving as Co-Vice Chairwomen with Art Coleman for the past two years.   “As a long time member of the AIRROC Board, I look forward to building upon AIRROC’s successes and continued collaboration with our members and the Board of Directors,” Barker said.  Ms. Petillo commented that she is “privileged to work with a Board and membership comprised of the leading companies working in the legacy area of the insurance and reinsurance industries and to contribute to the leadership of the organization.”

Collectively serving as AIRROC’s Executive Committee, they bring many years of experience with them.  Katherine Barker is the Vice President of Armour Group and President of Armour Risk Management Inc. She has more than thirty years experience in the claims and run-off fields of the insurance and reinsurance industries.  Prior to joining the Armour Group Kathy was the President of PRO IS, Inc. and formerly with The Hartford.

Marianne Petillo is the President and Chief Executive Officer of ROM Reinsurance Management Company, Inc., “ROM Re,” Marianne has over 25 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, mostly in the discontinued operations area in claim technical services, financial claims, and executive management.   In addition to AIRROC, she is a member of the Association of Professional Insurance Women.  Prior to ROM Re, Ms. Petillo was Vice President of Trenwick Reinsurance Company.

Ed Gibney is a Vice President with CNA responsible for commutations involving all of CNA’s discontinued operations and overseeing the dispute resolution process.  He brings 35 years of industry experience – prior to CNA he was with Continental Insurance Company and the Ace Group.
